String Curtains
Today while looking out my window watching as soft snowflakes fell to the ground and some rested in the branches of the trees or lay quietly atop my fence, that I noticed I was viewing all of this through my burgundy string curtains hanging in my office. I love these curtains because they still allow the sunshine to come in and most importantly I am able to see the activity outside without my view being distorted yet having a sense of privacy. These string curtains remind me of life! As we go through life we experience different things some we wish could be erased and others we wish could be replayed over and over again. But like the strings in my curtains it takes several just to complete one panel, as I thought on this I was reminded of my own life experiences and how I have had some rough and trying days but I was still able to look past my circumstances and see the activity around me. I could still look around and see the sunshine in my life despite what I may have been going through. I still had children that needed to be fed, a job I had to report to and life that was still going full force. Some days my strings were fuller than other times and my vision was obscure but there was still enough space in between to allow the sun to shine through. It’s just something about the sunshine that makes my days much more enjoyable and it allows me to think I can handle whatever life throws at me.
Today I want you to think about your string curtains, apply them to the windows of your life. This allows you access to others without being judgemental and yet others will find you approachable. Sometimes people need to see that we are human and we have trials and life doesn’t always deal us the best hand. But as long as we can see past our current situation and have faith in knowing trouble doesn’t last always we will be stronger, wiser and better equipped to handle whatever might come our way.
